If you desire a stately home hotel to get away from it all, but with Coventry close at hand, The Mercure Brandon Hall Hotel Hotel and Spa (Coventry, CV8 3FW) is the perfect venue for you. The Mercure name is built on quality and the professional service offered by the staff at this Warwickshire hotel and spa is second to none. Positioned in seventeen acres of lush grounds but with great transport links, Brandon Hall offers happy couples the chance to relax and unwind whilst their designated wedding planners take care of matters. With an expansive catering menu, numerous packages available and space for up to 180 seated guests, the hotel certainly delivers on its promise “to make the entire experience an enjoyable one from beginning to end.”
The Cripps group of wedding venues - taking in Gloucestershire, Northumberland and Nottinghamshire - offer truly original and quality spaces for weddings. Their foray into the Warwickshire scene, Shustoke Farm Barns (Coleshill, B46 2BL) is another fine addition to their portfolio, incorporating all of the amenities of a contemporary venue into stunning, red brick 18th Century barns. The group prides itself on its catering and their spectacular BBQs and open kitchens, and guests can take it all in beneath oak beams and overlooking the courtyard. The Barns are fully licensed, with space for up to 140 dining guests, and their LED dance floor is the perfect place to strut your stuff during the evening reception. Coventry and Birmingham are just twenty minutes away but Shustoke offers “something more informal, more romantic, more rural” than many other venues, and could be the perfect place for your special day.
If a hotel isn’t heavenly and barns aren’t your bag, perhaps the lure of a country wedding with a chance to make your own mark is the ideal one for you. At Home Farm (Northamptonshire, NN11 7HJ), happy couples have over 250 acres of countryside to call their own. The views over the stunning Warwickshire hills mean you can be sure of photographs worth drooling over, and camping and overnight stays are available; the party really can last all night! Staff are on hand to advise and help in any way possible, or alternatively couples are free to find their own catering, marquees, yurts, teepees, entertainment - everything to make their wedding their own. Home Farm tell prospective customers that “the only limitation is your imagination - a blank canvas for you to create your perfect wedding,” and if you are feeling creative, it is the perfect spot for your big day.
If you’re wedding venue was once the favourite haunt of both King Henry VIII and Elizabeth I, you know you are in good company. Kenilworth Castle (Kenilworth, CV8 1NE) is steeped in history, and is a magical place to create your own unforgettable moments. The exquisite Norman castle - lovingly looked after by English Heritage - is home to jaw-dropping sights both inside and out, making it a paradise for wedding photographers. A number of spaces are available, from the Oak Room (perfect for ceremonies) to the resplendent Dining Room, with the high-beamed Tudor Stables the ideal setting for an evening reception. Marquees are also available to host larger receptions for up to 260 people, all set in the magnificent Elizabethan Garden. With carefully selected suppliers on hand and beautiful surroundings to take in, Kenilworth Castle is a wedding venue fit for a queen!
